Decorated?

.
This Central Oregon Coastal community is like a giant senior center. Most of the residents are retirees, and I seem to be the junior among our friends. There are a few younger people here who mostly work in businesses related to the care of seniors.

We live in a rural area near the outskirt of town. It seems a lot farther out in the boon docks than it actually is. Our place is the second home from the end of a private road. And aside from an occasional adventurer, hunter, fisherman (no, not the begging phony fisherman from the tourist area), or a bird watcher, we don't see much traffic.

It gets very dark outside. Although the road is paved, it snakes its way for a mile or so through heavily forested areas, and is kind of creepy at times. So, according to our closest neighbor, he have not had a Halloween trick or treater in the 30 years that he's been here.

But that didn't stop my wife from putting out a few pumpkins and goblins for Halloween. And when Thanksgiving came the goblins faded to pilgrims and turkeys, but the pumpkins remained.

Then she dug out the Christmas stuff and wanted me to hang outdoor lights as well as the lighted deer. You know, it was time. I had to put my foot down. Why put up outside lights when no one ever drives down our street? Well that lasted about a half of a day, until my brother from the bigger inland city showed up. He took my wife's side (that suck butt)! But, he was the one that put them up before leaving the next afternoon. So now we have outdoor lights, lighted deer, a phony outside lighted tree, and a lighted real tree, in the yard.

I don't get it. And it seems that all this stuff is causing an electrical interference with the portal of the Thought Dock!

Are you decorated? Please take the poll to the left.

  2. I need an option that says SORT OF. We do a very half-assed version mostly to appease the kids.

  3. geo-He is my only brother now. No more udda brudda, just udda sista.
Beth-Too late. Blog rules prohibit changes once some one votes. So your only option is to go all out with the decorations this year.
