More Lies - More Applause

.
I couldn't believe last night's State of the Union address.  Obama continues with his path of constant lies and deception and so many of you applause. The following are exerts from an article published by (shockingly I must say) by MSNBC.  Obama continue to lie or distort the facts with every breath

OBAMA LIE #1: Obama lied when he stated that his Plan lowered costs for seniors with high prescription drug bills. The Truth is that his Plan has caused Medicare's monthly premium for outpatient care to rise. And that was really exaggerated for upper-income beneficiaries.

OBAMA LIE #2.: Obama lied when he said "Today, after four years of economic growth, corporate profits and stock prices have rarely been higher, and those at the top have never done better. But average wages have barely budged. Inequality has deepened. Upward mobility has stalled."  The Truth is the most recent evidence suggests that mobility hasn't worsened. A Harvard study released last week found the United States isn't any less socially mobile than it was in the 1970's.   And a child born into poverty who makes it to the top 20 percent in income hasn't changed either.

OBAMA LIE #2: Obama lied again with this statement, "More than 9 million Americans have signed up for private health insurance or Medicaid coverage."  That's not to say 9 million more Americans have gained insurance under the law.  The Truth is that the administration says about 6 million people have been determined to be eligible for Medicaid since Oct. 1 and an additional 3 million roughly have signed up for private health insurance through the new markets created by the health care law. That's where Obama's number of 9 million comes from. But it's unclear how many in the Medicaid group were already eligible for the program or renewing existing coverage.  Likewise, it's not known how many of those who signed up for private coverage were previously insured. A large survey released last week suggests the numbers of uninsured gaining coverage may be smaller. The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index found that the uninsured rate for U.S. adults dropped by 1.2 percentage points in January, to 16.1 percent. That would translate to roughly 2 million to 3 million newly insured people since the law's coverage expansion started Jan. 1.

OBAMA DISTORTION: "In the coming weeks, I will issue an executive order requiring federal contractors to pay their federally funded employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour, because if you cook our troops' meals or wash their dishes, you shouldn't have to live in poverty."  The Truth is that would be a hefty boost in the federal minimum wage, now $7.25, but not many would see it.  Most employees of federal contractors already earn more than $10.10. Only about 10 percent of those workers might be covered by the higher minimum wage. And the increase would not take effect until 2015 and it doesn't apply to existing federal contracts.

And that list of lies and deceptions will go on and on as it does every time the man speaks, and so many of the Ignorants applause!

Glacier Gateway

.
We are here: Kalispell, Montana; The Gateway to Glacier National Park.  Just a few miles south of the Canadian border and 800 northeast of the Central Oregon Coast.  No Wheeled Manor this trip as we will not be here long enough, and it's not quite far enough to justify the expense.  Sure miss it though.

Soaring eagles above.  A brisk coolness in the air.  Snow flurries and freezing temperatures overnight. Flathead Lake, the largest west of the Mississippi seems infinitely endless.  Simple, friendly people who wave as you pass.

Time passes slower here.  Time to eat, relax, rest, and play.  It's a different way here.  A way that should be. The way it was.  A way I remember and the way I prefer.  Levis and boots.  Wool caps and furry coats. Snowmobiles and 4x4's.  Fireplace smoke and gambling halls.  An obvious lack of beggars.  Churches galore and shopping a sparse.  Rivers run free and clear, and no trash littering the highways.

But soon I realize there is no escape from the Obama baloney.  I overhear even these folks ranting about his lies as I polish off my pastry at the local coffee shop.  The lies seem endless and more and more of them surface each day.  But still, some defend him while not enough of us call for his impeachment.  Much like sheep, so many seem not to care.

But remember, A Nation of Sheep breeds a Government of Wolves.

A Point in History

.
Have you ever realized how soon significant incidents become insignificant or are even forgotten?

Think about it, and so that we stay somewhat current, I'll name just a few occurrences in American History.

Most say that Christopher Columbus discovered the America.  We had a war to gain our freedom from England, and another with the French, and another between ourselves.  Railroad crossed our counter from coast to coast.  Two world wars.  Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, and then a cold war, and one war with Korea.  Civil rights came.  We launched men into space.  President Kennedy was assassinated.  Americans walked on the moon as we fought in Vietnam.  Russia fell, and the Chinese grew.  Mohammad Ali reigned as did did Joe Namath. The Black Panthers rose for a while as did Patty Hearst and the Simbianees Liberation Army.  L. Ron Hubbard, Rodney King and O.J. Simpson came and went as Los Angeles was on burned.

But do you realize how much quicker things pass now.  And with every new day, we seem to forget more and more.  9-11 seems mostly forgotten now as our children we too young to remember it.  Our schools de-emphasize the importance of history and barely talk about it.

Most of us have forgotten the Liar that Obama has proved to be, and make excuses for his inability to lead this country effectively.  Our parents have passed, and our babies are being killed on our own streets or in a war abroad that makes little sense.  And everything just becomes anothe point in history with meaning, without love, and without learning.   So Sad....

You know I'm spinning my wheels preaching this stuff.  Some of you know what I'm talking about.  Others not.  But it really doesn't much matter to me any longer.  As Frederick E. Perl once wrote -

I do my thing, and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations.
and you are not here to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I
and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.

When you stop dreaming

.
I guess I've been a dreamer for about as long as I can remember.  As a young boy, I'd thumb through the Sears catalog.  It seemed they had the answers to all my dreams, including a Honda moped with at top speed of 33mph that I believed would take me across the United States.  Well, the moped I wanted never actually materialized, but some 50 years later a Harley Davidson and a Motor Home with which I travelled America the past few years.

My dad was a career soldier.  Aside from the Army, he had second and third jobs to provide for Mom and her six kids. We never really had a home we could call our own, but when he retired in the late 70's, I saw the product of his hard work and the value of a pension.  So I dreamed of that.

And from that day forward I followed his lead.  Got a wife and some kids of my own.  A house to raise them and a job that could support my goal of retiring before my health ran out.  And so it was.  My dreams materialized.  And I still dream, and they still come true.

Not so with today's generation it seems.  Children being given everything they ask for.  Few are ever held accountable.  Most are liars.  Some go to school only to do drugs or play sports.  Most grab irrelevant subjects in college and soon return home to again be coddled by their parents.  Government entitlements permit them to survive until they die.  Some sooner than later.  Some never having a dream fulfilled.

And so it is, especially in third world countries where there is endless violence and hunger.  Where most kids never have a dream long enough to experience it.  The just don't care and they join the hoards of others just like them.  All without a dream.  And the few that did, stopped.

What’s this got to do with you and me? A lot of people in America sleepwalk through life having no real dreams. Somewhere along the line we’ve lied to ourselves and believed a lie that chasing dreams is for kids, that we’re grown-ups now, that we need to make the best with what we have, just get through this day and forget about tomorrow.

And nothing could be further from the Truth.  You see, when you stop dreaming, you begin to die.
