.
Just before heading out the other day in the Wheeled Manor to revisit the northern Oregon coast, we stopped by Micky D's for a sausage burrito or two. I stayed in the Manor while my Partner for Life (PFL) headed inside for the goodies.
As my PFL walked toward the entrance, I noticed a stranger leaning against a car in the lot. The car had out of State plates on it and he was about 30 or so. The car looked decent, but was packed with possessions. He looked clean, but probably would enjoy a hot shower.
When my PFL passed by, the stranger approached her. I watched as my PFL did exactly as trained, and raised her flat palm toward him much like a cop would direct a car to stop. He just walked away from her and later drove off without trying his luck with anyone else. I was proud of my PFL.
But, I couldn't help to wonder more about that guy. He certainly was begging, but he didn't appear to be a career beggar. He seemed to be travelling, or perhaps homeless, but he was new at the game. I wondered where were his parents, or his siblings, or his friends. Did they know what he was doing, or that he could use some help? Would they, or could they, have helped him if they did know? Or does he even want, or would he accept help from his family?
The incident made me reflect back some 25 years ago to a time when I met a woman while patrolling MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. She was in her late 60's and I considered her "elderly" because I was still pretty young at the time. She was pushing a shopping cart with all her worldly possessions from a cluster of bushes where she slept.
I stopped to chat and inquired about her family. She was proud and boasted about her son who was a doctor at UCLA Medical Center, a pretty prestigious place not so far away. So I asked when she last saw him. "Well, it's been almost a year. Last Mother's Day, I think. It was when he brought me a new blanket." I remember that as vivid as the many other contact I've had that you think are more exciting.
But, because I remember it so well, doesn't mean that I understand it. How can a parent, child or sibling not help when they realize their mother, brother or son is living on the street? How can a child let a parent live in the park, just minutes from his estate? Or, do they think it is the State's responsibility to support their family?
I just don't get it. Only in America, but not at the Thought Dock. Family should be the first responders.

Tides are Changin'
.
Yes, all the leaves are brown and the tide is gray. So, with the autum leaves changing colors and falling to the ground, so go the ones that elected the Long Legged MacDaddy.
We never hear very much of them any more. They are all voting against what they elected. But just who were they? They won't even admit that they are them! And for me, they will always be them.
I'm glad they have changed their minds. That they have woke up and realized the damage they have done. And that they are ousting those that they elected to office.
But you know what? They will flip-flop, tick-tock like a clock, and like the Israel in Those Days, they will make the same mistakes again in some distant future and will again have to be punished.
Sittin' on the Dock of the Lake watching the tide turn away. Loving life and floating my own boat.

What's in a name?
.
In Those Days, I knew him as Casius Clay. He was on his way to becomming a champion boxer after knocking the daylights out of everyone he fought in the Olympics. Then, overnight he became the more famous Muhommad Ali. That was crazy, but it was the first time ever that I heard about converting to Islam. The only benefit I saw from it is that it was a way out of serving your country. But whose country? After all it was the 60's and Vietnam was building.
And in the 70's, it was Lew Alcindar who became Kareem Abdul-Jabar. As time passed Malcom Little became Malcom X, Cat Stevens became Yusaf Islam, and Malik el-Shabazz (he would flip flop between them), boxing stars Matt Franklin switched to Saad Muhommed, Dwight Braxton to Muhammed Qawi, Eddie Gregory swapped for Mustapha Muhommed, and Chris Jackson went for Muhommed Abdul-Rauf.
Just like the popular kid's toy "Transformers" one could instantly swap religions, change his name, and become a different person. And they did. They were drastically different after converting to Islam. Even more violent than they were before.
Many more followed suit. Michael Jackson in 2003, the author Michael Wolfe, and lots more. Some were given Islamic names at birth like Shaquile O'Neal. This list could go on and on. And I hope it does because it make it all that much easier for me to identify the enemy.
Personally, I prefer the name David.

You've not tasted all my cookin'
.
Everybody loves a good cook. But in today's world of technology, being a good is not rocket science. All one needs is the right recipe, which all good cooks are anxious to share. The key is selecting the right recipe. And picking the wrong one leads to disaster.
So, here's how you do it. Start with the Chef who is offering the recipe. For example, if you're wanting an apple pie, you probably might not look seriously at an Asian chef. Or if you're craving spaghetti, don't look in a Cajun cookbook. Next look at the ingredients and the spices in particular that you think will tickle your taste buds. In other words, if your wanting a succulent steak, don't look for ingredients such as scallops, shrimp and a pesto sauce. It's all pretty easy if you think about things before you run to that grocery store. But, remember, if you do make a mistake, start over with a brand new recipe with a different set of ingredients.
Well folks, knowing who to vote for is just like cooking up a feast you can be proud of. And, it is apparent that too many of you haven't done that during the last 30 years or so. So, without putting my spin into your minds, I'll explain it again.
The political party is like the master chef. If you're looking for sensible taxes, free enterprise, lower taxes, and fewer social programs, don't look in the Democrat cookbook. The candidate is like the main ingredient. If he has no documented past, then how can you be sure of what he will be? Pork can be tenderloin, but can also be ham hocks. Stick with what you know is good. The candidate's background and promises are like the spices in a recipe. A Halfblack Muslim, with no experience, who promises to have free health care for all, but with lower premium rates, is like adding Jalapeno peppers to a seafood gumbo seasoned with Tabasco.
And finally, look at who is sponsoring the candidate. If Pelosi or Biden appear in your community to campaign for someone you've never heard of, or has no voting record, or no experience.....you can be rest assured that his views are exactly like those of his supporters.
Local elections seem to be the most difficult to make the correct choice because most of the candidates are unknown and have no real experience. But thin before you vote for an ex-con for Sheriff, a cop might be the better choice. The homeless shelter president running for your city council, or the public defender running for Judge? Perhaps your would consider their opponent.
Now, the most important thing to remember is, if once you have prepared your meal from the recipe you chose, and it gags you at first bite............spit it out!!! If they have lied about their campaign promises, or not represented your views, don't forgive them. Don't just keep trying to swallow the failures in the decisions you've made! If in doubt, vote them out!
Your wise vote will make a difference in just a few more days!

Religion, Ethics, and Morals
.
In Those Days I was a cop in Los Angeles. Yeah, over 30 years of pounding the beat in a City of 5-Million. During the place and time where Adam-12 and Police Story were the talk of the country. From the poverty of Watts to the wealth of Beverly Hills. I was there and I will never forget.
And many that I meet today can't wait to ask, "What was it like?" or "Have you ever....?" And to most of their questions I think to myself, "Yeah, I've been there!" But seldom do I tell the stories that they like to hear, and talk mostly in generality.
And so it will be today. I've been shot at, but never shot anyone. I've kicked some ass, but never had my ass kicked. I've chased fleeing cars but have never been chased. I've ran toward the sound of an explosion while everyone else was running away. I've stood face to face with an angry mob, but never was a part of a mob. And I've cradled some, but have not been cradled. I have recognized heroes, but I am not a hero myself. Surely I have seen more than most, and I have learned from what I have seen.
Not to brag, but to put things in perspective, as a conservative estimate, I have arrested or cited about 10-Thousand people in during my time as a cop, not to mention the untold number of the ones that should have been arrested. And, I've encountered hundreds of thousands of people that were victims, witnesses, and the like. And, a good portion (thankfully) of all the people I've encountered were religious.
From my perspective, most people that are religion, also have have ethics, values and morals. They are the foundation of America. And, I say this because they tend to govern themselves, and peacefully resolve their disputes. That is essential in a civilized world. For with out it, chaos thrives.
Of the thousands of people that I've arrested, only a few handfuls were religious. I find that incredible. Now although I follow a specific religious doctrine, I'm talking about religion in general. Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Mormons, and all the rest. EXCEPT ... Muslims.
ALL Muslims.....(at least the ones I've encountered as a cop).
I have encountered plenty of Muslims. They seem to be the ones that generally will not peacefully coexist with anyone that has a different belief. I have noticed that their morals and ethics are lacking when compared to the general American population. They are difficult to reason with and more often than not, are intolerant of anything other than their way. Hot tempers (even more than Italians), more fraud, corruption, theft, cheating, and violence is rampant in their culture. And they contribute little to the American culture. Surprised? It's against their doctrine.
Well, I know this was not the "Cop Story" you were expecting, but it is what I've seen. And, it is what it is.
Paddle your own kayak and have a great day!

Here they Come
.
Well, more of the same.. I haven't blogged in a while, but it has been even longer since I've blogged about where the MacMuslim is taking our country.
Obama just appointed two devout Muslims to homeland security posts. He and Janet Napolitano appointed Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development.
And then, Napolitano selected Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria, as ADC National Executive Director as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.
Has anyone ever heard a new government official being identified as a devout Catholic, a devout Jew or a devout Protestant...? Just wondering. The MacMuslim seems to be proud of these appointments and wants to boast about the Muslims he is placing all around the country.
Muslims appointed to critical Homeland Security positions? Now doesn't this make you feel safer already?? Was it not "Devout Muslim men" that flew planes into U.S. buildings 8 1/2 years ago? Was it not a Devout Muslim who killed 13 at Fort Hood ?
And at the same time the MacMuslim has been trying to convince us that he was brought up on a Christian faith, yet he is the only President in history to never have attended church (of any denomination) while in office.
Hold on tight. He is destroying private business as he strives to personally take control of every phase of America. He has increased our debit, raised our taxes, ruined what health care we had, and given us away to the communist and Muslim controlled world, while all the while breaking his campaign promises.
Who voted for this devil? Where were you? I was anti MacDaddy well before it was popular to do so. But I won't say "I told you so!" The important thing to do is pick your ignorant ass up (if you were one that elected him) and get him out!

And the Difference is...
.
I'm not an expert by any means in religious theology, but I think I have some of the basics. Now, did you know that Muslims don't believe that Jews are the chosen people, and Jews don't believe that Jesus is our Savior, and the Protestants don't recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christians.
Now these disputes have gone on since the earliest times of recorded history. And at times the disputes have been violent. But, with the advent of modern times, and in the modern world, and with modern culture, these disputes have become less violent, with ONE EXCEPTION; And that exception lies with the MUSLIMS.
You see, every nation, every culture, every religion in this modern world works to improve the world (in their eyes anyway), through their contributions and efforts toward peace, EXCEPT the MUSLIMS.
Jews don't strap bombs to their children and attack anyone to advance their ways, and I've never heard of a Christian indiscriminately killing Jews, or a Protestant trying to kill the Pope, or a Catholic murdering Muslims or Buddhists to get their point across. Not so with the Muslims.
Here is but a few incidents in recent history of what Muslims have done to others that don't support their views; In 1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim. In 1972, Olympic athletes in Munich were kidnapped and massacred by a group of Muslims. In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslims. During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslims. In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslims. In 1985 a cruise ship was hijacked and a 70 year old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by a Muslim. In 1985 TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by a Muslim. In 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by a Muslim. In 1993 the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by a Muslim. In 1998, the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslims. On 9/11/01, Muslims flew hijacked planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon, killing thousands. In 2002 the United States fought a war in Afghanistan against and Iraq against Muslims. In 2002 reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered by a Muslim. And in In 2009, 31 people wounded and 13 American Soldiers were murdered at Fort Hood by a Muslim. The shoe bomber was a Muslim. The Christmas Day bomber was a Muslim. Need I go on?
But let's look at what the Muslims have contributed to society in roughly the same period. Of the 1.2 BILLION Muslims in the world, they have received 7 Nobel Peace awards. In comparison of the 14 MILLION Jews in the world, 129 have received Nobel Awards. Why is it that although Muslims account for 20% of the world population can not contribute as much as the Jews have with only .002%? The facts speak for themselves, yet Mr. Obama ignores everyone else but congratulates the Muslims for their contributions.
No one but the Muslims are brain washing children and teaching them how to blow themselves up along with non Muslims. No one hijack planes, kill athletes, or blow themselves up in restaurants like the Muslims do. No one but the Muslims promote the destruction of churches, makes their protests by killing people, or call for the death of anyone who don't believe in their way.
And Folks, that is the difference.............

It's even worse
.
I'm really not sure what Bonsai means. I know it's a miniature Japanese tree, but even before I knew that, we as kids would scream "Bonsai" as we charged into a situation with all we had; all the gusto. Bonsai, right or wrong it was sort of a kamikaze attack to me. You know, like the suicide planes laden with bombs that were flown into our WWII troops in their failed efforts to win the war.
Anyway, I made a banzai run to Southern California recently. A matter of necessity you know. If it wasn't, I would probably had never gone. What a place, and aside from a few family and friends, and a medical need, I would likely never ever go. It's crazy!
Couldn't help but watch the feud between Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman, who are both trying to take the Governor's race to replace the "Terminator." Brown, if you don't know was a single term governor who really drove the state to the brink of destruction. And, Meg is a former CEO (HP I think, but perhaps E-bay).
So, Jerry finds out that Meg had an illegal alien as a housekeeper and makes a big deal out of it, even though she paid the wetback $23 an hour for 8 years and found her through an employment agency. So ironic. You see California, as a whole, wants to legalize wetbacks and refuses to control the border while they boycott the states that do.
A 40 mile freeway trek to the doctor took us over two hours in the morning. State tax is nearing 10%. Signs written in Spanish, and the "Blue Light Specials" are announced in a foreign language only. Walmart stock more guavas than apples, and Caucasians are the minority!
Beemers, Hummers, and custom Harleys rule the roads. Escalades are for Soccer Moms and to make runs to Gelson's for groceries, and they never get dusty. Gas well above 3 bucks, and Mexicans, Muslims, and maniacs everywhere you turn. Police chases, sirens, and 113 degree heat. A river lined with concrete that provides a way for beer cans and plastic trash bags to wash to the ocean. Gone are the pristine beaches. And RV parks that cost more than hotels?
SoCal was good to me in Those Days. Not so any longer. It is torture to me. But I will go back because I have to. Another doctor's visit in a few weeks or so. A time for a few visits with family (and BK, you weren't home this time but I'll try again next time).

Kinda Surprising
.
I must say that I am somewhat surprised that every one of you that took the poll, "Does Yesterday Matter" voted unanimously that it does. But I still wonder whether everyone actually thinks it does all the time, or did some of you that thought otherwise simply not vote?
Examine the odds of hitting the lottery. Let's say the odds are set mathematically at 1 in 5 million to win. So, on Tuesday some lucky one hits the jackpot. The odds of it happening again don't change, so it is just as likely that someone could hit it on Wednesday. So, in this instance "Yesterday" didn't matter.
Does it matter who won the Superbowl 13 years ago if the same two teams are matched up this year? I think not.
Now, as someone intelligently commented on the prior post, that Yesterday can matter if we learn from it and use what we learned to guide us in our choices of Today. So true!
The fact that two nukes killed tens of thousands of civilians has prevented any future use of that weapon. And what Hitler did is his day, directed America's actions against Saddam Hussein. And like the other commenter said, America's choice of the Long Legged MacDaddy two years ago will dictate future elections.
Well, thanks for participating. I hope it inspired your thought process.
