A Point in History

.
Have you ever realized how soon significant incidents become insignificant or are even forgotten?

Think about it, and so that we stay somewhat current, I'll name just a few occurrences in American History.

Most say that Christopher Columbus discovered the America.  We had a war to gain our freedom from England, and another with the French, and another between ourselves.  Railroad crossed our counter from coast to coast.  Two world wars.  Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, and then a cold war, and one war with Korea.  Civil rights came.  We launched men into space.  President Kennedy was assassinated.  Americans walked on the moon as we fought in Vietnam.  Russia fell, and the Chinese grew.  Mohammad Ali reigned as did did Joe Namath. The Black Panthers rose for a while as did Patty Hearst and the Simbianees Liberation Army.  L. Ron Hubbard, Rodney King and O.J. Simpson came and went as Los Angeles was on burned.

But do you realize how much quicker things pass now.  And with every new day, we seem to forget more and more.  9-11 seems mostly forgotten now as our children we too young to remember it.  Our schools de-emphasize the importance of history and barely talk about it.

Most of us have forgotten the Liar that Obama has proved to be, and make excuses for his inability to lead this country effectively.  Our parents have passed, and our babies are being killed on our own streets or in a war abroad that makes little sense.  And everything just becomes anothe point in history with meaning, without love, and without learning.   So Sad....

You know I'm spinning my wheels preaching this stuff.  Some of you know what I'm talking about.  Others not.  But it really doesn't much matter to me any longer.  As Frederick E. Perl once wrote -

I do my thing, and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations.
and you are not here to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I
and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.
