We were invited to a friend's house with other friends for a dinner on the Love Day. Beef Wellington was served with fresh asparagus and parsnips. Now, I've had asparagus but never beef wellington or parsnips. The beef wellington was delightful, but the parsnips were even better.
I don't think I've ever even seen a parsnip in a store, let alone eaten one. I didn't even know what I was eating and I was afraid to ask. Thankfully someone else asked for me. I guess they are a root kinda vegie that looks like a white carrot. Really tasty. If you've never tried one, I encourage you to do so. Google says you cook 'em up just like potatoes, or carrots. Boiled, baked, fried, or eat them raw. I think you'll like them. And the Wellington was great, but I think that's beyond my means.
Yum..Yum..

ReplyDeletelife is good when you find flavor in a parsnip. ask peter rabbit. ask farmer mcgregor. mc grrrrrrregorrrrrrrrrrrr.
i used to think mcgregor had a contract w/ the sports department at k-mart.
I wish I could join the two of you in whatever parallel universe you are in. You seem to have such a good time there, while I feel like I don't even get the language. :)
